Here are some nonprofits and companies that offer homeschool or educator discounts in Minnesota!
Museums
- Science Museum of Minnesota: Offers an educator membership that is available to homeschool families
- Minnesota Children’s Museum: Offers a small group discount program that offers discounted admission for a year for homeschool families. Must submit their form and proof of homeschool status (Letter of Intent works)
- Great Lakes Aquarium: Homeschool students listed on the Letter of Intent get the special visit rate of $5. The designated home educator (one per family) is free. Must show Letter of Intent to receive discount.
Performing Arts Venues
- Children’s Theatre Company: CTC’s Homeschool Family Program provides student matinee tickets to students who are receiving their education through homeschooling or virtual education. Homeschool Program tickets are $10 each with no minimum ticket requirement. Must submit proof of homeschooling initially to qualify.
- Stages Theatre Company: Call the box office to order and ask for the homeschool rate or sign up for student matinee tickets through their group order form.
- Many other performing arts centers in the Twin Cities offer student matinee pricing including the Ordway, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Northrup, and the Guthrie Theatre. If you are outside the Twin Cities, be sure to check your local performing arts center or theatre for student matinees.
- The Schubert Club in St. Paul offers a variety of “Kids Jam” homeschool classes during the school year. These classes are FREE thanks to generous grants of donors. Best for kids ages 5-12.
Stores
- Target: Every mid-July through mid-August, Target offers teachers 20% off on one qualifying storewide purchase. You must validate by submitting your letter of intent through your online Target account under the “Discounts” section.
- Michaels: Get 15% off, including sale items, by completing teacher verification using your Letter of Intent online.
- Great Wolf Lodge: Call and get on their homeschool email list to receive notification of monthly deal days.
